Day 2 - Tuesday, 7/13/10
Students:
-researched their question with the knowledge of which sites were the most trustworthy
-filled in their diagram on Inspiration with what they found
-webchatted and used google IM to talk to their partners so that they could exchange information
What we learned and opinions on Webchatting
I learned that Obama is sueing Arizona for signing the SB 1070 law because he opposes it and believes it is racial profiling. I also learned that this bill will be active on July 29th this month. I think web chatting would be good for school unless there are problems with the program. Online chatting is good too because it's less awkward than talking to the person in reality.

Day 3 - Wed. 7/14/10
“You have been elected the new Mayor of Malden. Before leaving office, the old mayor gave jobs to several of his political friends but the paperwork hasn’t made it to the personnel office yet." A. Should you 1) honor the jobs promised by the old mayor, or 2) cancel the jobs since they aren’t “officially” in the system yet?
No since I have my own ideas and will think differently than the original. So I have every right to be against this if I want. B. What are the possible negatives to denying these people their jobs? What are the possible positives to allowing them to take these jobs?
neg. - they could say it is unfair
-argue and say they want the job
pos. - they are happy
- they know what their doing C. Would it make a difference if the perspective employees had worked against you in the mayoral elections?
It may or may not because I don't want my enemies to work with me, I wouldn't know or not if they'll try to work against me.
This article would mainly be about the CLS (Christian Legal Society) again being discriminated against. They are arguing that the CLS is in fact discriminating other religions and sex orientations of other people. But the CLS states that this is their group and why should other's join if they don't even share the same beliefs. They express that they have every right to keep this group and others are discriminating against them for not allowing them to say what they want because it's their group.
Well we are acting out the liberal and conservative people of this subject. We are on a talk show hosted by Daniel and he is interviewing us as liberal vs conservative. All of us had researched the third case Law vs Martinez, which basically is about the CLS saying that they have not discriminated and should not be punished while the liberals are saying yes they are discriminating. They do not allow gay people to enter their club because it is against their religion. For me I liked the subject and am against the CLS for not letting a gay person into their club. He believes in Christianity that should be enough. This does not so much affect Malden because we're so culturely mixed even if some citizens may not think that same way. We could say that it is not right though. It was great working in the group even if it was a little awkward we could still communicate and get along. I like working with different people it just takes a little time for us to say something.
